Biography
Andrew was born in London and raised there. When he was 18, his mother died of breast cancer, which affected him greatly. He attended the University of East Anglia for a time before transferring to Central School of Speech and Drama so that he could be closer to an acting career. His family is very supportive and encouraging – his father still works as a sound engineer on “The Walking Dead.”
In 2010 Andrew made it clear that he would not renew his contract with The Walking Dead if they went beyond six seasons because three years away from home had been enough for him. In 2013 however, AMC announced that they were extending their deal with Lincoln through Season Nine (2019). As of 2018, Andrew has directed two episodes during the show’s eighth and ninth seasons.
Lincoln has been active on social media, with an Instagram account that he started in 2013 and a Twitter account that was created for him by the show’s producers because Lincoln didn’t use it himself. He also posts primarily about his show “The Walking Dead.”
